Monday
The Greek word anemōnē means daughter of the wind. The Greek word demos, for the common people or civic mass, also means fat. What significance could this have? Are the common people, like adipose tissues, a reservoir of energy in a democratic nation? Join us as we ponder!

The sea anemone has a single opening which operates as both a mouth and anus. Similarly, our President has a twitter feed.

This week, the Yale Political Union invites Diane Heith to debate R: This House Prefers Press Conferences to Twitter in Sudler Hall beginning at 7:30 p.m. Grab seats with us in the back left!

Thursday

Clown fish are unaffected by the neurotoxins secreted by anemones, and live within their poisonous tentacles–can the primary producer’s tools be used to dismantle the primary producer’s ecological niche?

The Yale Political Union and the Yale Community Health Educators are cohosting a talk on informed consent with Weronika Janczuk in WLH 208 at 5:00 p.m.

Entacmaea quadricolor, commonly called the bubble-tip anemone, is a filter feeder, obtaining nutrients from waste and debris. This is also my strategy when playing Risk.
The Yale Political Union will hold a Game Night at 305 Crown Street beginning at 9:30 p.m.
